YPF Signs Major Agreements Boosting Argentina's LNG Exports

In a context where the energy surplus is emerging as one of the main sources of income for the country, YPF has closed commercial agreements in Asia for a total of 15 million tons of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), generating annual revenues of over 7 billion dollars for Argentina. This agreement also includes cooperation in areas such as lithium and hydrocarbon exploration.

In addition, the company has issued a Negotiable Obligation (ON) for 1.1 billion dollars and has repurchased bonds for 750 million, aiming to improve its maturity profile and increase its capital expenditures for 2025. The Chief of Cabinet, Guillermo Francos, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of YPF's new project, led by its CEO, Horacio Marín. Franco highlighted that the state-owned company has closed commercial agreements in Asia for a total of 15 million tons of LNG, generating annual revenues of over 7 billion dollars for Argentina.

In the coming weeks, new contracts with European energy companies are expected to be signed to sell up to an additional 4 million tons, thus strengthening the optimistic outlook for the country's energy future. YPF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with major energy companies in India, such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (OIL) and Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), to export up to 10 million tons of LNG annually.

The main objectives of the company include the construction of the Vaca Muerta Sur pipeline and the development of the LNG project, driven by Shell's entry instead of Petronas. YPF's shares have experienced an increase of over 150% in the last year, surpassing inflation, which closed at 117.8% according to INDEC.
